Bringing world-class chamber music to a wide international audience

Musica Reale is an initiative formed to bring together members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, in a variety of formations, for the performance of chamber music in all its aspects. All instruments being available in the orchestra, the choice of programming is enormous.

Our aim is to bring the world of chamber music to a wide international audience, at the highest level of performance and in an informal, welcoming atmosphere.

To that end, as one of Musica Reale’s activities, an annual summer festival was begun in July 2007 in the famed Tuscan wine town of Montalcino. It was repeated in July 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and will be continued in July 2012. As the festival grows, it will also include an educational element in the form of master classes. A similar project is currently being developed for Japan.
